Learn to be a Digital Marketer

Here is a list of great learning resources that have helped me become a digital marketer. I’m constantly adding to this list with new and interesting programs, courses, and videos, so check back!

Some of these online learning courses have helped me from being a French language major and working in the service industry to me becoming a great digital marketer and working as an independent consultant.

1. AdWords Academy for Google Ads Courses and Certifications
   It’s essential to have your Google ads certificates if you work at a digital marketing agency. Learn about Google search, display, mobile, shopping YouTube, Google my business and other areas of SEM here.
2. Google Analytics Courses and Certification
   Another great free resource for digital marketers. Keep up to date with data and grow businesses through intelligent data collection and analysis.
3. Lynda.com:
   Hundreds of online courses about marketing, design, business, soft skills and I’m sure dozens more. Courses are frequently updated and are of high quality. You’re also able to finish a course and get a “certificate” to add to your Linkedin profile.
   For my fellow Portlanders with a Multnomah County Library card, you can access Lynda for free. Here’s where. Otherwise, check out your own county library and see if this tool is offered.
4. Udemy.com
   Great option to get a different perspective and learn from free and very cheap courses. Paid courses always seem to be 90% off, so you can buy a course for $10 — $15.
5. Free Online Stanford Classes
   Excellent course options. Quality material. Quality teachers.

   I took a human-centered design class with a few other students in Portland. It was a great experience and hope to do it again.

   Excellent resource for learning Google Tag Manager & Google Analytics. Julian offers hundreds of free videos, or a paid class on his website, Measureschool.com, the data driven way of digital marketing.
